On Thursday, July 14th,  Patty Hernandez (Provident Jewelry’s Director of eCommerce & Digital Marketing) was invited to speak at a conference called The Retail Summit, which brings together industry professionals from the eCommerce retail space.

As Part of the Fashion & Apparel panel, her team was moderated by Blake Van Leer III. Blake has strategically grown eCommerce brands, most notably – kathy ireland® Worldwide and now Chief Growth Officer for Proto Ai, a first-in-class website merchandising technology company.

To give a bit of context, Mr. Van Leer has long roots in the technology space, stemming from family at Georgia Tech University, his great grandfather was President for this school and in the 1950s pioneered for the rights of women engineers.

Following in line with his family’s ancestry, it is no coincidence that Blake Van Leer III is a successful digital professional and was chosen to present on the panel that our Patty was part of.

Aside from Blake’s impressive background, the Fashion panel consisted of several other industry leaders as well. There were presenters from Perry Ellis (global apparel brand with over 20 lines & licenses, most notable brands include Original Penguin®, PGA TOUR®, and Callaway®), Season 2 Consign (a unicorn startup, luxury authorized handbag site, who uses live selling on their social channels and website to drive hypergrowth sales figures), Breezy Swimwear (creating swimwear for everyBODY plus leveraging NFTs as a form of customer loyalty), and BLANX Footwear (custom made Footwear-meets-art, changing the eCommerce landscape).

What's Next for Provident Jewelry?

The cat is out of the bag! Ring the alarms, we are building a new website.

From a client first meets high end luxury experience mindset,  we are completely revamping our website, rebranding and redesigning our complete client experience online and improving functionalities that have never been implemented to the jewelry and watches industry before.

We are building something pretty cool here, and finally will be in line with other e-commerce companies and will clearly be a website that many other brands aspire to create one day.

That’s right, at PROVIDENTJEWELRY.COM – not only will we elevate to offer the white glove service that you’re used to and deserve but also our website will very soon reflect that feeling, emotion, prominence that you experience when you walk into our stores.

Pulling inspiration from our Dream Factory concept, absolutely- Yes, dreams do come true!

Our new site will embody the type of concept that you feel when you walk into each and every one of our retail locations.

Family-owned and operated now for almost 30 years, it’s about time that we elevate our website and give you more of what you told us throughout the years that you wanted.

Our new website will give you the ability to buy online, pick up in store, schedule a 1-on-1 appointment, view more images & video content on our product pages and landing pages,  live chat with 1 of our watch & jewelry experts plus so much more!

To spearhead this initiative, we recruited Patty Hernandez as Director of eCommerce & Digital Marketing. A little history on her that stood out to us is the fact that Patty started her career as a buyer and inventory planner then over time transitioned naturally into eCommerce, so always with a merchant-centric approach. She has been helping build websites for fashion and jewelry companies of different sizes: from start up to commercial brands in the luxury fashion apparel & jewelry space for 10+ years.

Most recently, she was Director of eCommerce for Anatomie.com – a women & men’s travel-meets-everyday-adventure luxury apparel brand that is easy care, packs light, wrinkle-free, and keeps you looking polished from morning to midnight. The demographic that she catered for is the same type of clients at Provident Jewelry, so definitely a match on giving you all more of what’s expected.

While at Anatomie, Patty grew the eCommerce department from single digit to double digit revenue growth over the span of three years. She started out with a very small team and as the revenues grew, she helped to identify, recruit, and hire employees to support and help hypergrowth revenues, company-wide. As part of the strategy she implemented, taking a client-first, omni-channel approach,  she gave the client exactly what they wanted and how they wanted (always).

From restructuring the digital marketing efforts, to finding ways to hold the business more accountable and in line with overall company directives, resulting in higher ROI, reduction in ad spend, to spearheading several website redesigns and eCommerce platform upgrades from Shopify to Shopify Plus builds. Her background is truly very impressive.

With each project implementation, there were customer-first approach elevations and updates made to make the website experience very high-end and give the client more of what they had expressed they were looking for. From adding a new client loyalty program,  Instagram IGTV live selling model, to enlisting an international shipping platform to service clients international.

Patty certainly has the Intel and experience Provident needs to take it to the next level.
